About
Studio Oehmke creates fine art photography that transforms mundane conditions into timeless, ambiguous abstract imagery, thereby questioning the stability of an overall objectively and collectively perceivable reality. Instead, the pictures point to a moment of pure presence and individual realization.
The artworks are an invitation to indulge in meditative moments and to discover the power of mindful contemplative existence.
In 2024, Studio Oehmke was founded by artist K. Hoell (born Oehmke) as a colorful experimental arena for abstract(ed) art photography.
Previous credentials and experiences include: BA in European Media Studies, University of Potsdam & University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, Germany (2007 – 2011), Erasmus Studies in Art History, University of Copenhagen, Denmark (2009), MA in Photography, University of Brighton, England (2011 – 2012), MA in Photography, University of Art and Design, Burg Giebichenstein, Halle, Germany (2011 – 2014), various group shows throughout Europe (i.e. Photographers‘ Gallery in London, Retramp Gallery in Berlin, Sím Gallery in Reykjavík, Whitebox in Munich).
